So many of you have been asking, so I wanted to share what I’ve been doing with my nutrition lately.
It all started back in February with a Whole 30. After the 30 days were over, I wanted more. I felt like I had reached my goal weight, but I wanted more definition in my arms. I wanted to gain strength in my workouts and not have to modify pushups anymore.
So in addition to whole 30, I started intermittent fasting. On top of my crossfit workouts, I added in accessory dumbbell work. Since then, I have lost 18 lbs and my body composition has completely changed (see pics below).
So what exactly is IMF and what are the benefits?
IMF is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. Several studies show that it can have powerful benefits to your brain and your body.
Here’s why I love it:
-I don’t feel like I’m on a diet. I honestly hate that word. I want to live a LIFESTYLE.
-It can reduce the risk of cancer cells. This one is huge because of Evan’s genetic condition. Anything we can do to reduce his chance of cancer we are all for.
-Increases fat loss. I’ve seen a huge shift in my body composition since IMF, especially in areas like my stomach and legs.
-I feel more energized. I was drinking 2-3 sparks a day and coffee on top of that. I’ve been able to significantly reduce my intake of caffeine (which is huge for me).
If you are considering IMF, there are so many wonderful articles online to help you out! It’s made a drastic change in my life, and I’m hoping yours too!
Love your points on this! Do you follow the 18:6 ratio? Also, I agree with you…I hate the word diet.
